As most of you know, I recently got engaged! I have an asscher cut diamond framed with baguettes and the framing makes my diamond look a lot bigger than it actually is! Keep reading for my top three tips to make your ring appear bigger!
1. Halo Settings
Most of you know that a halo makes a diamond look bigger, but when clients are considering a halo, sometimes they are hesitant. Most people ask me if it is trendy, dated, or tacky and my answer is always the same. If you do a chunky halo that has lots of metal showing, the halo can look dated. A seamless halo that looks like an effortless extension of your diamond is the proper halo and the only one we create for our clients. These types of halos are delicate, timeless, and add stunning detail to your ring.
2. Side Stones
Some people think that a three stone ring will make your center stone look larger, but most of the time it makes the overall ring look bigger because it takes up more real estate on the finger. This is something a lot of my clients want. If you are looking for something that takes up more space from one side of your finger to the other. We can work with you to create the perfect proportions, making your ring look bigger and complementary to the center stone.
3. Thinner Band
If you want a larger looking diamond, but don’t want to add a halo or side stones, a trick I always recommend is to subtract, instead of add! The thinner your band, the larger your stone will look. Our signature super skinny band is 1.5mm and will give your center stone a larger appearance.
To recap: a delicate halo will make your diamond look bigger, side stones can help your ring take up more space on your finger, and a thinner band will give the illusion of a bigger center stone!
