Engagement Ring Widths
Welcome to The Clear Cut Classroom where we take deep dives into all things diamonds (and jewelry)! This week we’re talking all about engagement ring widths! How thin or thick should your band width be? We’ve got you covered with all options!

Since all of our engagement rings are made with fine metal such as platinum and gold, we want to make sure you don't go too thin on the band. What do people typically choose for their width? One of our most popular styles is the super skinny band! I LOVE this look because it accentuates the diamond, really making it pop and appear bigger. It features a 1.5mm band and is absolutely stunning! It is delicate and dainty, but so many people ask “Is this safe? Other jewelers say they cant go below 2mm!” Having such a skinny band seems too good to be true, but it takes a lot of skill and craftsmanship to make such a thin yet sturdy band. Be assured, this band is tough!
We have seen that the 1.5mm band is the perfect width to wear every single day and withstand the wear and tear, while being super dainty and thin. It is still fine jewelry so no lifting weights or rock climbing while wearing your ring! Take care of your jewelry because it is not indestructible.
If you want a thicker look, go for 2mm! It is a classic look if you want to go for something more traditional. For three stone rings 1.5mm is still sturdy and dainty, but if you have larger side stones, we will usually recommend 1.7mm.
