Resetting your Ring

We have a few parameters at The Clear Cut with ring resets. All of the diamonds we work with should be natural, untreated, and GIA certified.

A lot of times heirlooms may not be GIA certified and that’s okay--we can help you with that! First, you would need to take your ring, unset the diamond and send it to GIA to get it certified. It would take a couple of weeks, and would come with a number associated with your diamond. Similar to a diamond birth certificate!

If the diamond already is GIA certified, then we can start the reset process with a 50% deposit. For the design process, we work together with our design team to create your dream setting. If you would like to do CAD renderings or sketches, they are always provided to you before we put the ring into work. Additionally, we can provide examples of rings we’ve made in the past.

All of our rings are handmade in NYC and the typical timeline for a ring to be created is anywhere between 3-5 weeks (depending on the style). Afterwards we will send a final video and photos of the ring. If you would require any adjustments or other requests, we can take care of that as well.

Once everything is confirmed, the remaining balance is paid then we can coordinate delivery options.The finished ring will come with a retail insurance appraisal.
