Clear Cut Couples: Cody and Alexia

Cody and Alexia both went to Pepperdine University, but were in different class years. Their mutual friends always thought that they would be the perfect fit. They finally met one night at an alumni event and got lost in their own conversations all night. The rest is history!

For their first date, they went on a hike locally in Malibu and then went to dinner in Los Angeles. LA traffic turned what would've been a 2 hour date into a 4 hour date...the only time that they were happy to be stuck in traffic! They fell hard for each other quickly!

They have been together for 8 years since and have shared countless memories, like when Cody joined Alexia after her study abroad program had ended in London. They traveled Europe together early on in the relationship and it led the way for many adventures to come. Since then, they have traveled to Mexico, all over the US, France, Spain, and Italy where they got engaged!

Before going on their Europe trip, Cody had asked Alexia's parents for their blessing. They started the trip in Positano, which he had always dreamt of going to as he had always thought Positano as one of the most beautiful places in the world. They had a relaxing day at the beach together and had no plans that evening, so he casually asked "a group sunset cruise would be fun. Would you want to do that?," to which Alexia happily said yes to. Cody had previously asked the photographer, videographer, and captain to play along that everyone there was a part of the group sunset tour, even though the boat was reserved just for them and their moment. Once the boat left the dock and repositioned itself with Positano in the background the photographer played along by stating that he just got into photography and wanted to take some photos to build his portfolio. He offered to take photos of everyone.

Alexia agreed so they went to the front of the boat. It was at that time that they took some photos casually, taking direction from the photographer on how to pose. He then posed Alexia to face the Positano coastline. With her back to Cody, he got down on one knee and then asked her to turn around. Cody shared how much he loved her, how excited he was to keep building their future together, and asked her to marry him. Alexia froze, Cody froze, they were on cloud 9 for the entire boat ride after that. Everything was even more perfect than imagined.

It was a complete surprise! Cody threw a few curveballs in the days prior like "let's go ring shopping when we get back."  Of course at that point, he had everything planned already with the ring hidden in his luggage. Alexia loves the ring and it is everything she dreamt of.

Alexia is originally from Mexico City and they are planning to visit Mexico in the coming weeks to tour venues! Congrats you two! We are SO happy for you!
