Clear Cut Couples: Hannah and Nick

Hannah and Nick met through work! They met in the elevator on Hannah’s very first day (July of 2021) and Nick says he has been infatuated with her ever since. They had been good work friends for almost 3 years before they started dating. They would both stay at the office late until everyone left and then Nick would come sit in her office for hours and they would talk almost every night. She always had a feeling that she would end up with Nick, but shrugged it off for a long time because of the politics of it all, especially since they were coworkers, and Nick’s dad was her boss!

Nick even tried to, subtly, ask her out about a year before they started dating, but she avoided saying yes. Their connection only deepened with time and it all changed on one fateful night in April of 2024 when Hannah invited Nick to meet up with her and her brothers at a bar in downtown Chicago. They ended up at a country music bar, dancing in front of a live band. She grabbed his hand and the rest was history!

The next Monday at work, he asked her out and they went on a date that weekend. 8 months later, they got engaged and will be getting married in June of this year. On their first official date, they went to a rooftop bar. It was so awkward the first time because there was so much anticipation leading up to that moment. They had spent so many late nights at the office 1x1 chatting about life, but this was the first time that they were 1x1 outside of work actually on a date! They both had waited for that moment for a long time. While they were on their first date, they planned their second date which was 3 days later.

Their early stages of dating are their favorite times to reminisce on because they were both so giddy. They frequently go way up north Wisconsin to their families lake house, but the first time they went together in July was really special. Their favorite memories so far have been this Christmas season together. Last Christmas, they were both single so doing all the fun Christmas things as a couple has been so memorable. They also got engaged right before Christmas. Recently, they have been loving planning their wedding and honeymoon and house hunting! They also share a love for pizza and ice cream so their favorite dates are date nights in ordering pizza and trying new local ice cream spots.

Nick proposed on December 20th at his family’s country club during his family’s annual Christmas party. Before that, they went to the Nutcracker. He surprised her by inviting her entire family there and flying in her best friend from Utah. She said, "It was not really a surprise because I am a detective and Nick was being so weird/nervous the whole day leading up to the engagement. On the way to the country club we got 3 different calls and every time he answered it he said ‘Hey what’s up I’m here in the car with Hannah’ so I knew something was up.”

But even still, the ring is absolutely gorgeous and the exact ring that she wanted! They never tried rings on together because she wanted it to be something that he picked out for her, so she sent him a bunch of notes of potential styles that she would like. She always knew that she wanted an antique cut moval diamond, which is very specific and rare, but didn’t want to put pressure on Nick to spend a ton of money or to find this specific diamond. She also wanted it to be something special that he picked out for her. Hannah follows The Clear Cut on Instagram and one day they posted a video of her dream diamond (antique moval) which was already fate and she ended up DM’ing them asking if it was still available and they said yes. She DM’d the video to Nick and said nothing else, just left it at that. She decided if it was meant to be it would be. Turns out Nick bought this exact diamond! He knows her very well and it was clearly meant for her!

Their plans are to get married in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in June of this year in the Catholic church and then a reception at the historic Milwaukee Grain Exchange after. They have a lot to plan and put together to make this happen and are so excited! Congrats you two!!
