Clear Cut Couples: Jordan and Emerson
by Daniella Cohen
Jordan and Emerson’s story began in March 2020 when the pandemic brought Jordan home from college, and the world seemed to pause. What could have been one of the loneliest times of their lives instead turned into the most meaningful time. They found each other just down the street. With everything shut down, they filled their days with simple joys. They quickly became inseparable, and by the time Jordan returned to school in the fall, they already knew that what they had was rare and worth holding onto.
The next few years were spent long distance, filled with late-night phone calls, road trips, and all the little ways they reminded each other that love was stronger than the miles between them. When Jordan graduated and came back home, they finally got to close the distance and start building their life together, side by side.

Looking back, they know now that the universe brought them together at exactly the right time. Out of one of the hardest seasons came the greatest joy, and every day since has been proof that their love was meant to be.
Their very first date was blueberry picking, one of the only activities open in the area during the pandemic. What could have been an ordinary afternoon turned into something so special as they walked through the rows, talking, laughing, and picking berries side by side. Neither of them knew it then, but that simple day among the blueberry bushes would be the start of a love that has only grown sweeter ever since. They have been together for 5.5 years since!
Some of their favorite memories come from the adventures they have shared. They are happiest by the ocean, whether it’s hopping over to the Bahamas, taking cruises, or exploring Europe together for the first time last year. Travel has become such a big part of their relationship, and it’s why they can’t wait to get married by the water. At home, they love cooking new recipes together and spending time at the theme parks, especially Universal and Disney, which have become special places for them. And of course, their French bulldog, Coco, is at the center of it all—she makes even the simplest days feel like a highlight.

Emerson proposed to Jordan over Labor Day weekend at the St. Regis in Longboat Key. Before dinner, he asked her to walk down to the beach with him to catch the sunset, knowing how much they both love the ocean. As they walked along the shore, picking up shells and enjoying the view, they came across white roses that he had scattered in the sand earlier. That’s when he got down on one knee and asked her to spend forever with him, with the waves and sunset making it the most unforgettable moment of their lives.
It was definitely a surprise! Jordan was so shocked that she cried for about 20 minutes while he was proposing. He kept wiping away her tears, and when she finally noticed the photographer off in the distance, she started laughing through the tears. When she looked at the ring, she said it was perfect and exactly right for her. She hasn’t stopped looking at it since, and they both love watching it sparkle in the sunlight.

As for their wedding, they don’t have all the details figured out just yet, but since Jordan is such a planner, she’ll be diving into research soon. What they do know for sure is that because they both love the ocean, they want to get married on the beach with a beautiful sunset as their backdrop. Most of all, they can’t wait to celebrate with their family and closest friends - and of course some great food!
