Clear Cut Couples: Kristine and Andrew
Andrew and Kristine met as kids! Their parents went to high school together and have remained good friends since then. Their families spent a lot of time together when they were younger, but Andrew’s family ended up moving a town over as they were entering their teenage years.
So, naturally, with the craziness that comes during that phase of life, they did not see each other much and fell out of touch. Over a decade later, and with cross country moves for both of them, Andrew shot his shot with an Instagram DM and the rest is history!
Their first date came due to unfortunate circumstances. They are from Western New York so go Bills! On January 26th, 2025, they lost to the Chiefs in the playoffs. Kristine originally had plans to travel home for the Super Bowl to watch it with family and friends, so she had already scheduled time off from work. When they lost, Andrew took a chance and asked her if she would come visit him in Monterey, California instead of canceling her PTO. She agreed to visit and they have been traveling to see each other ever since.
Andrew knew she was the woman he wanted to marry in the time leading up to this first trip, and her visit just solidified his decision. They have been together for over a year since!
Their relationship thus far has been long distance, and one of the perks of that is there are many fun trips involved. The most memorable trip by far was their first trip together in Monterey, California, where Andrew was living at the beginning of their relationship. This was where the feelings that had grown over the phone became real in person and they knew they were meant to be together. They got to do the 17-Mile Drive and walk the beach together, it was amazing.
Andrew is in the Marine Corps and currently living in Colombia, so Kristine got to spend her 30th birthday visiting him in Bogota and also going to the beach in Santa Marta. One of their favorite memories was getting to spend a full week home in Western NY together on the lake, the first trip around their families as a couple. They both love to travel and have many future international trips on the horizon.
Andrew proposed on November 2nd, 2025 on Conesus Lake. They were home for the wedding of one of Andrew’s best friends from high school and Kristine thought that was the only event happening for the weekend. The day after, Kristine’s friends took her out for an afternoon drink and Andrew decorated her family’s lake house with the help of their moms, Kristine’s aunt, sister, and some florists. The back deck was decorated with flowers, candles, and a custom-made sign.
The proposal was definitely a surprise and Kristine was absolutely stunned by the ring. She had been obsessed with The Clear Cut for years and has been a loyal follower of their Tiktok and Instagram accounts. Her dream was to get an elongated cushion cut engagement ring from The Clear Cut and Andrew made it happen, down to every last detail!
They plan to get married in the late spring or summer of 2027. Andrew will be moving from his assignment in Colombia at that time and will have 30 days to move and get settled at the next duty station. During that period, they plan to get married and go on their honeymoon. Congrats you two! We are SO happy for you!
