Clear Cut Couples: Lauren and Kyle
Lauren and Kyle met in Bolivia on a pro-bono consulting project, organized through the consulting firm that they both work for. They were based in different offices (Lauren in D.C., Kyle in Cleveland) so they never would have crossed paths if they weren’t selected to go on this trip!
Their first date was at Bills Burger Bar in the lobby of the Pittsburgh Westin - lol! At the time, Lauren was traveling for work to Pittsburgh and Kyle was working remotely at home in Cleveland so he drove the 2+ hour drive to meet her in Pittsburgh! Since then, they have been together for over 3.5 years!
Their relationship started on an international trip, so travel has been a huge part of their relationship (pre-COVID). They have been to Southeast Asia, India, Italy, Germany (Oktoberfest), Mexico, Canada, all throughout the U.S., and, of course, Bolivia together! An early special moment shortly after dating was when Kyle decided to move to New York to be with Lauren as she started Business School at Columbia. A recent special moment has been getting their golden retriever puppy, Waffles! He has brought them so much joy and happiness and they are loving being a family of 3!
Kyle proposed in May in Central Park. Lauren thought they were walking to meet friends at the Boat House for brunch when Kyle took them on a different route and proposed! He then surprised Lauren with a brunch with their immediate families at Refinery (his family flew in from Ohio!), followed by a rooftop gathering of some of their closest friends and family
Lauren and Kyle had been talking about getting engaged for some time, but wanted to wait until their families were vaccinated to be able to celebrate together in-person. They would say it was well worth the wait! Kyle planned an incredible celebration and picked out Lauren's dream ring. As for their wedding, they are still deciding on the details! They are hoping for a fall 2022 or spring 2023 wedding date! Congrats you two! We are SO happy for you!
