Clear Cut Couples: Maria and Scott
Maria and Scott met in middle school! They were very good friends until about 10th grade in high school when they started dating. They went all through high school and went to prom together. Maria went away to college and Scott stayed back in their hometown and they parted ways. Fast forward two years and they were reunited at a backyard party in their hometown. The rest is history… they have been together ever since then!
Since they’ve known each other forever, they can't really pinpoint a "first date" but when they reunited, they drove down to the beach and got some Surf Taco - one of Scott's favorite spots. After they finished eating, they went to the beach and walked along the sand. They hung out at one of the lifeguard stands for hours just talking and laughing the night away.
They have shared so many incredible memories over the years! A very special memory in particular was when Maria studied abroad and Scott came to visit. They were young and in love and exploring a country that he had never seen before was magical. He flew into Florence - his first time ever flying internationally. They hadn't seen each other in three months and it was one of the best weeks ever. They traveled from Florence to Venice & ended the trip in Positano. They rode a Vespa from Positano to Amalfi and it's a trip that they will cherish forever. They hope to go back to Europe for their honeymoon!
Scott proposed in April on a trip to Fort Lauderdale. They are big beach people and he knew that she always wanted a beach proposal. He told her that he wanted to get a drink at the bar on the beach before dinner so they went down a little earlier than normal. When they got down to the bar, he said he wanted to walk the beach first - Maria should have known right when he said that, but she was oblivious! They started walking and Scott had hired a photographer to capture the moment. He was so nervous that she would spot the photographer so he pointed him out and said "Wow, he must be taking some intense pictures of the sunset." Again, she should have known by then, but responded "yeah, they must be!" They walked in front of the photographer and Scott turned her around by her shoulder and got down on one knee and asked if she wanted to spend her life with him. Of course, she said yes!
It was definitely a surprise! Maria had been sending Scott pictures from The Clear Cut pictures for almost 2 years. She said, “I knew I wanted to be a Clear Cut bride and of course, it did not disappoint. I am completely obsessed with my perfect antique Old European brilliant cut. It is everything I ever dreamed of.”
They are getting married in August 2023 in Aruba. That is a destination they have been to a couple of times and absolutely love. They wanted all of their favorite people to experience their favorite island together! It's a destination wedding, but they still anticipate it to be pretty big!
