Clear Cut Couples: Olivia and Chris
Olivia and Chris met at Quinnipiac University. It was Olivia's freshman year and Chris’s’ sophomore year. Both of them were journalism majors and took part in the school's TV station. At first, Olivia was interested in sports journalism, and Chris worked in that department and showed her the ropes of creating graphics for one of their sports shows, SportsPaws. Olivia quickly realized she knew NOTHING about sports, but must've liked spending time with him. After meeting, Chris began texting her, they started hanging out and the rest is history.
As for their first date, Chris is pretty sure the official one was off-campus grounds, at this classy spot called...Buffalo Wild Wings! They have been together for 6 years since then (but Olivia says 7 because he waited 7 months before making it official on Valentine's Day!)
After college, Olivia took a reporting job in Huntsville, Alabama for two years. Then she moved to Connecticut for her next job. All of these moves while Chris has been in Hoboken, NJ. They’ve been doing long-distance since 2021, but as of a few weeks ago, Chris officially moved in with her in Connecticut. It was a long time coming.
They have countless incredible memories over the years. In college, Olivia and Chris visited his grandparents in Vermont. Olivia grew up skiing and Chris grew up going to Dorset to see his family. Vermont is one of their favorite places (and somewhere they are hoping to get married). They also have a special place in their heart for Maine and Mystic, CT, two places they’ve done trips together. They did long distance for what felt like forever. Chris’s job was remote after COVID so he was able to go and see Olivia for a few months at a time in Huntsville. They never thought that they would spend so much time in Alabama being from Jersey, but they have such special memories there and met so many friends they will have for life. During that time, they explored Chattanooga, TN,Tuscaloosa (roll tide) and Olivia showed Chris around Nashville, TN, only 2 hours from her in Huntsville. Now that they live in the same state, they are looking forward to a trip together to Ireland in September.
Chris proposed in front of the NYC skyline at Pier A in Hoboken. When Olivia would visit him, they’d always walk around that area, and it's definitely a special view for both of them. Hoboken/NYC is a place they hope to live in again soon.
Olivia was totally surprised! Olivia showed Chris what type of rings she liked from The Clear Cut’s Instagram page. He took it as a sign to get the ring from there. Olivia wasn't a part of the process, but he knew what she wanted. Olivia says she didn't know exactly when he was proposing, but was hoping it'd be before he moved to CT. He did it the week before the move!
Right now they are thinking of getting married at the end of September/early October 2026. They are touring venues in Vermont and then Maine. Congrats you two! We are SO happy for you!
