Clear Cut Couples: Sam and Tyler
Sam and Tyler met down the shore in Manasquan, NJ when Tyler came to Sam's shore house. After that they spent many days down the shore together at Parker House and Leggetts before they met back up in Hoboken almost every Sunday to watch football at Green Rock in Hoboken. They said, “It is almost too cliché how typical New Jersey our story is!”
Their first "official" date was on December 22nd, 2018 when they went to NYC to do all the typical tourist Christmas activities. They grabbed dinner, went to Bryant Park, Rockefeller Center, and walked through all the decorated streets. It became their anniversary tradition since at the end of their first "real" date, Tyler asked Sam to be his girlfriend… and the rest is history. 
They have shared so many incredible memories over the years. After a few months of dating, Sam's job took her from NJ to Boston. After a year of long distance, Tyler also moved from Hoboken to Boston so that they could be together. Their plan to start a new chapter together in Boston was put on pause when COVID-19 shut down offices everywhere and Sam and Tyler took the opportunity to spend quarantine back at the Jersey Shore. Over a year later, they’ve found a new appreciation for the area where they fell in love as they have become temporary full-time residents. In February they are moving from the shore back to Boston for a second time to explore a new city together like they planned.
Despite all of the changed plans and relocating, they’ve had so much fun being together wherever they are with their dog Decker who has gone from a city dog to a definite beach bum.
Tyler proposed to Sam on 12/19/21 on the beach in Manasquan (where they met). After proposing on the beach they went to their favorite bar, Leggetts, where all of their family and friends were waiting to surprise them and celebrate the good news. People came from all over the North East which was so special because Tyler planned the proposal about a week before. They felt so loved and are so grateful people dropped everything to be there with them.
The morning of the proposal Sam told Tyler she was planning to spend the entire day on the couch in pajamas watching football and relaxing. After a bit of convincing, Tyler got Sam to throw on some clothes and a baseball hat to go to Leggetts "just for one game". Long story short–Sam was shocked and definitely not expecting it to happen that day.
Sam wanted something unique and special for an engagement ring and the ring Tyler chose was perfect. The toi et moi style with an old mine was something they talked about when they first started talking about rings, but seeing it come together the way it did left Sam speechless and happier than ever. Tyler's friends and family were impressed with his choice, too!
They’re moving back to Boston soon, but are hoping to plan a New Jersey wedding for 2023 that reflects how much they love it in NJ and how they fell in love. Congrats you two! We are SO happy for you!
