One of the most important things to do once you have jewelry you love is caring for them, which includes cleaning them when they get worn everyday!

Cleaning your engagement ring is much easier than you think and you can do this at home. All you need is a bowl of warm water, a couple drops of dish soap, and a soft bristle toothbrush.

First, swirl around the soapy water with your toothbrush and let your ring sink in the water for 10-15 minutes. Then, take your toothbrush and gently scrub around all the nooks of your ring. This will instantly get rid of all the oils and grime off the ring, and it is literally the easiest way to get that sparkle back in your ring!

After a rinse under clean water, gently dry with a soft paper towel or cloth. I personally clean mine around once a month, but ideally doing this every other week is the best way to upkeep your ring. If you have a big event coming up like a photoshoot or event, you can also send your ring to us at The Clear Cut for a complimentary professional deep clean.

The ultrasonic cleaner machine works well with rings as long as your ring does not have any pave diamonds or smaller diamonds. These cleaners can potentially shake out the smaller diamonds out of their setting, which is something you want to avoid. It's also best to avoid any other material besides diamonds for the ultrasonic cleaner - emeralds, pearls, etc.
