Clear Cut Couples: Aly and Justin
Aly and Justin met when they were in college at Arizona State University. Aly was a sophomore and Justin was a junior. They were both involved in Greek life and one of Aly’s close girlfriends was dating Justin’s “little.” Aly saw Justin from across the room at a fraternity party and she asked her girlfriend to introduce her. From that point on, Aly made sure she could attend all of his fraternity parties to spend more time with him. That's how it all started! Since then, they have been 'officially' dating for seven years!
They were one month away from their seven year anniversary when Justin proposed in snowy Chamonix, France. Many of those seven years were spent in a long-distance relationship, since Justin serves for the Army National Guard and spends a lot of time training. They stayed strong through it all and supported each other through even the toughest challenges!
They had been looking forward to a beautiful family vacation and birthday celebration for Justin in Europe for over a year! They planned to spend 10 days traveling through Chamonix, France, Switzerland (including Lucerne, Interlaken, and Zurich), and Courmayeur, Italy. The first chunk of the trip was spent in Chamonix, France to ski and see amazing views of the French Alps. They stayed in a homey log cabin chalet nestled in the mountains below the Mer De Glace glacier. Justin proposed on the balcony overlooking the glacier sunset just before his birthday dinner celebration in town (mind you... in his socks in the snow!). It was magical!
Aly was completely, 100%, surprised! She was not expecting anything, because she knew they had many big plans (and expenses) for 2019 year. She was totally caught off guard, surprised, speechless, with lots of tears. Aly LOVES her round brilliant solitaire ring. It is stunning and exactly what she would have wanted… which is impressive since the two never talked about the style of her ring. His vision was an ultra thin band with a diamond to look like it was “floating.” It looks just like that and it is absolutely beautiful!
They are planning a long engagement, most likely around two years to enjoy the fiancé life! They are excited to relax and not stress about the planning, yet (lol)!! When they do start planning their wedding, they are looking to get married in Seattle, Washington, or Chelan, Washington at one of the wineries by the lake. These two cities hold special places in their hearts. They cannot wait for the day to come and are getting even more excited every day!
