Clear Cut Couples: Amanda and Kevin
Amanda and Kevin met through their best friends during the height of COVID-19. Their love story is kind of like the invisible string theory - they grew up near each other and were at the same parties in high school. They actually have Snapchat memories together from 2017, but didn’t fully meet until after college and it was the perfect timing. They went on a perfect date and the rest is history!
Their first date was in Asbury Park, NJ at a restaurant called Taka. It was the perfect first date spot: great Japanese food and strong margaritas to relieve the first date jitters. After Taka, they walked over to Lola’s which is a European style bar. Amanda went to pay for their drinks and Kevin didn’t want her to, so he took her debit card and put it in his pocket! It was so sweet. They then walked the boardwalk and Amanda was thinking “this is the man I’m going to marry.”
Remember that he took her debit card? He lost it that night! He was so embarrassed, but Amanda was so excited from the date that she couldn’t care less. Since then, they have been together for 4 years!
They have shared countless incredible memories over the years! Everywhere that they go together is an adventure. They love traveling and their favorite destination so far has been Aruba. They love a beach vacation and just hanging with friends. Kevin is especially good at making every birthday, anniversary, or other event just so special. There isn’t one specific one, but it’s the way he’s so kind and caring that Amanda cherishes.
For example, when they went to look at rings together, Amanda was so excited. It was the next phase in their relationship. Kevin made it even more special with the perfect city date and a stunning ferry home together.
Kevin proposed on July 3rd in the rain on the front porch of their apartment building. Plan A was to do it on the dock overlooking the Navesink River but Mother Nature had other plans. It was perfect, intimate, and totally meant to be.
Amanda was so surprised! She said the ring is, “everything I wanted and more!” After they got engaged, finding out all the behind the scenes details made her love Kevin even more deeply! She still can’t believe that she got her dream ring!
As for now, they’re just enjoying being engaged and will start planning the wedding in the coming weeks. Congrats you two! We are SO happy for you!
