Clear Cut Couples: Cierra and Jacob
Cierra and Jacob met about four years ago on Super Bowl Sunday in San Diego. Cierra was out with her friends, Jacob was out with his, and they happened to cross paths at Firehouse in Pacific Beach. When Jacob recognized Cierra’s roommate, he knew that he had the perfect little “in.” So, Jacob asked Cierra’s roommate to introduce them.
It was fate. From the moment that they started talking, they never stopped. It wasn’t long before Jacob was spending nearly every weekend in San Diego.
Their first official date was back in their hometown. Jacob picked Cierra up from her parents’ house, and they went to a Mexican restaurant that they both loved. Jacob was so nervous that he accidentally locked his keys in the car, but it just made the night even sweeter.
Looking back, it’s one of those memories that they still laugh about. They have shared so many incredible memories over the years together since that first date.
Highlights include: the many San Diego trips in the very beginning of their relationship and all the surprise visits they would plan for each other during their long-distance phase. They have also taken many trips with their friends all together.
They have loved building a life together in new places, from moving to Santa Monica and exploring a new city side by side, to eventually finding their way back to their hometown - it has been a special full-circle journey for them.
As for the proposal, Jacob had to plan it meticulously. They are always on the go, and usually attending weddings every weekend. There was, however, a rare free weekend on the calendar. Cierra told Jacob it lined up perfectly with Tate McRae’s concert in L.A. and that she wanted to go. Jacob ended up saying no and suggested a relaxing weekend in Carmel instead. At the time, Cierra remembered thinking it was odd that he shut down the idea, but Carmel sounded amazing, so she didn’t question it. Her instinct was right! 
Jacob had planned the entire weekend around a proposal at Pebble Beach. Since they both love golf, Jacob chose the perfect spot on the beach and even arranged for a hidden photographer to capture the moment.
The next day, they celebrated with friends and family. It couldn’t have been more special!
Cierra said, “It was definitely a surprise and even more of a shock when I saw the ring. Everything I dreamed of and talked about with him. He surpassed my expectations and I still can’t get over it. It truly is my dream ring!”
They are planning for a 2027 wedding, but are enjoying the engagement period fully! Congrats you two! We are SO happy for you!
