Clear Cut Couples: Ellen and Danny

Ellen and Danny met while starting their professional careers in New York City working at IBM. They both started in the same training program, but never really hung out outside of work. A year passed and Ellen invited herself to Danny’s lakehouse in Georgia when she heard some mutual friends of theirs were planning a trip for Labor Day. The two completely hit it off that weekend on the lake. At that point, Danny had moved to Boston and they started dating long distance from Boston to NYC. Eventually they wanted a change of scenery and they made the trek to the west chasing their love for the outdoors and now live in Denver, Colorado. Since then, the two have been together for 2 years!

Ellen and Danny had always wanted to go to Banff, Canada for a vacation filled with hiking, camping, and just soaking up the beauty of western Canada. They finally booked their bucket list trip over the July 4th holiday. Danny picked a beautiful spot on the ‘Rock Pile’ trail of Moraine Lake, with jaw dropping views and iconic scenery of the Canadian Rockies and turquoise glacier water. He found a very secluded area off of the main tourist trail, laid down a blanket and brought a bottle of wine for some happy hour drinks. Danny gave a beautiful symbolic speech, then Danny reached for his pocket and asked the biggest question of his life.

Although Ellen thought this picture-perfect International adventure would be the perfect opportunity for a proposal, she didn’t think there was any possibility of Danny proposing. Due to the fact that they were backpacking, camping and roughing it in the woods for 5 days, the thought that Danny was carrying a diamond the whole time never crossed her mind. She was completely blown away when he got down on one knee. It was perfect in every way!

The two share a love for the wild outdoors and they are currently looking at venues in Jackson Hole, Wyoming or in McCall, Idaho to host a destination mountain wedding in the Fall of 2019. Congrats you two! We can’t wait to hear about the wedding!
