Clear Cut Couples: Frances and Xander
Frances and Xander met their junior year of college at an off-campus Super Bowl party hosted by Xander and his roommate. Their friend groups merged into one soon after that and they were good friends through the end of college. They kept in touch for the first few years post-grad!
In October 2015, Frances reached out to Xander to get dinner in Akron, Ohio, while she was attending a school conference there. Xander drove from Columbus, OH to meet her (1.5 hours away!) and they had an amazing time catching up. Their official first date was April 1st, 2016! 
Xander proposed on June 21, 2019 at 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge! When Frances got home, he had a couple activities planned for them in the Brooklyn area. After treating her to a manicure/pedicure (this may have tipped her off :) ), he vacated the apartment before her arrival and surprised her with a note telling her to pack her bags and wear something nice. Half an hour later, an Uber picked her up and took her to 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge, where he was waiting in the lobby.
Xander took her up to the room, which he had decorated with pink and red flower petals. Sensing there was no time like the present, he immediately got down on one knee and proposed in front of the window overlooking the Brooklyn Bridge, East River, and Manhattan skyline! Fortunately, she said yes and they enjoyed a chilled bottle of Rose after!
They proceeded to have the best staycation weekend at the hotel, enjoying the beautiful rooftop pool and sweeping Manhattan views!!
Frances had hinted at the beginning of the year what type of ring she was looking for, but the weekend itself was a total surprise. Although, once he had sent her to get a manicure/pedicure, she definitely knew something was up.
He could not have asked for a better ring reaction. She stared at it all weekend in amazement, constantly commenting on the beauty and sparkle of the diamond. A number of people have also reached out saying how much they love the ring. She could not be happier!
They are getting married in August 2020 at Le Chateau in South Salem, NY. We can't wait! Congrats you two!! We are SO happy for you!!
