Clear Cut Couples: Hanna and Adin
by Daniella Cohen
Hanna and Adin met about 3 years ago while working together at Hulu. It was Adin's intro email (and a little nudge from Adin's manager) that encouraged Hanna to reach out.
He said his hobbies were skateboarding, music, and learning to draw (she later found out that last one was a stretch). Plus he had a picture of himself in Chicago (where Hanna is from), so she took the plunge and emailed him to introduce herself. They were all still working remotely at the time, so they didn't meet in person until several months later. It quickly became clear to both of them that they shared the same values, interests, and most importantly, their mutual love of the snow.
Since that moment, they have spent years exploring mountains, beaches, and cities all over the world!
Their first date was at Mom's Bar in LA and although it’s likely the last spot anyone else would choose for a first date, it was perfect! Cheap drinks, sticky floors, a jukebox, and a ping pong table was everything they needed and they had the best time. The rest is history! They have been together for 3 years since! They continue to celebrate any big milestone at their favorite dive bars all over the city.

They have shared countless incredible memories over the years. They’ve gone on amazing trips together. Like hiking to Machu Picchu, swimming in the Mediterranean Sea, and skiing in the Swiss Alps (where they got engaged). But most of their other highlights are the smaller, quiet moments that they’ve gotten to share together - backyard BBQs with friends and families, summertime concerts, fall in the Midwest, and simple nights just watching Jeopardy on the couch. Just being together - doing anything - is the real highlight of all!
Adin proposed on February 23, 2025 while they were on a ski trip in Switzerland! For weeks leading up to the trip, unbeknownst to Hanna, Adin had been researching places to propose in Zermatt. He ended up finding an amazing local photographer who helped him plan things out. They ended their skiing day a little early following Adin's plan to "check out a jazz bar" that had a beautiful view of the Matterhorn. Though they almost missed the last train up the mountain, they made it on time. They walked through a short snow path where the trees opened up to a perfect view of the Matterhorn. Adin loves taking photos and had brought his film camera with him, so he pointed to an area where he wanted to take some photos of the view. After taking a few photos, he said there was just one more thing he wanted to do before they went to the jazz bar, and he got down on one knee.

Hanna literally jumped for joy, screamed yes, squeezed Adin, and then turned around to see their photographer capturing the whole moment. She surprised them with Hanna’s favorite flowers and champagne, and they had the best time doing a photoshoot in the beautiful snow-covered Alps.
Funny enough, it hadn't actually snowed yet on their trip, but as soon as they were wrapping up and calling their friends and family to share the news, the tiniest little snowflakes started to fall - it felt like it was just for them!
Hanna was so surprised and said, “the ring was absolutely stunning...better than I could have even imagined! My ring is an Antique Old Mine stone, and Adin also found a vintage ring box from an antique shop to propose with...it took my breath away! I was so stunned I just stood there for a bit staring at how gorgeous it all was.”

After a minute or so Adin had to remind her, "Hanna, you need to take your glove off" so that he could put the ring on her finger!
As for their wedding, they plan to get married next fall in Los Angeles, where they currently live. Their venue is home to a women's non-profit organization founded in 1894, and is dedicated to inspiring women and build community through arts, culture, education, and service. Adin's family is from Central California and Hanna’s is from the Midwest, so they can't wait to have all of their loved ones in one place to celebrate! They also plan to have a Mehndi ceremony to honor her Pakistani heritage, which will be in Chicago next summer!
