Clear Cut Couples: Joe and Abby
Abby and Joe were born just a couple of miles from each other in Bergen county, New Jersey, but it wasn’t until 25 years later, when they found each other in central Florida. Joe moved to Orlando to start his career as an engineer and Abby was there finishing her degree at UCF and waitressing part time. Although the two started out as friends, it didn’t take long before Joe fell in love with Abby’s engaging personality and adorable smile. Awww!!
From Orlando to Boca Raton, the two dated for almost 4 years and have known each other for about 4 and a half. By this time, Joe was ready to pop the question! They had talked about a trip to wine country for quite some time and finally found the perfect time to do it in early May. Joe knew Abby might have been expecting something special during the trip so he decided against popping the question in Napa to keep her on her toes. Sneaky!
Since the two would be spending time in San Francisco, Joe decided to propose at sunset at a Peruvian restaurant on the coast. Abby reluctantly agreed to go outside for a photo in the windy beach weather but quickly forgot about the cold when she turned around and Joe was on one knee. Joe said he was very lucky to ask the right person to act as photographer and capture this happy moment for them, perfectly and without any prior knowledge.
The choice to wait for San Francisco was definitely the right one. The look on Abby’s face was genuine shock! After all the hints and descriptions of her ideal engagement ring, Joe didn’t think he would still be able to surprise her so well. “Thank God for all those suggestions though,” says Joe. “I would have never picked the unique style she wanted without them. Many thanks to Olivia for not only helping design Abby’s perfect ring, but for finding such a beautiful stone to sit inside it. Of course she loves it!”
After spending two weeks together in Europe of last year, not only did the two fall further in love with each other, but also with the warmth and familiarity of the Italian culture. Before they even finished their vacation, they knew that they wanted to tie the knot on Italian soil. Even if that meant foregoing the extravagance of a typical wedding. They are currently planning a small family ceremony along the Amalfi coast and they can't wait! Congratulations you two!
