Clear Cut Couples: Katie and Jon

Katie and Jon matched on Hinge and quickly found out that they had a number of mutual friends and lived really close to each other! Jon lived in downtown Jersey City and Katie’s apartment was about a 10-minute walk away in Hoboken.

Sometimes they forget that they matched on Hinge because from the first day they started talking, everything felt so natural as if they’ve known each other forever.

For their first date, they got drinks and appetizers at a restaurant on the Jersey City waterfront. Jon said, “I picked her up at her apartment and the moment she stepped out of her door I knew she was going to be the one. Cliché but true!”

He then officially asked Katie to be his girlfriend at Parker House in Sea Girt, NJ on May 23, 2023. They have shared countless incredible memories and travels since then! Their first vacation together was in July of 2023 to the Bahamas. They then traveled to Italy in September, 2024. Most recently, they went to Mallorca, Spain and Lisbon, Portugal this past September, 2025. Other special moments include moving into an apartment together in Morristown, NJ last September, 2024 and they got their cat Charlotte in February of 2025!

Jon proposed on October 18, 2025 at Greenwood Gardens in Short Hills, NJ. It was the perfect fall day and they shared a private moment surrounded by beautiful greenery. After Katie said yes, they walked around the property together and found a private bench where they sat and talked about their relationship and everything that led up to the moment.

When they got home, Jon surprised her with a group of family and friends waiting to congratulate them and celebrate!

It was a complete surprise! Katie immediately cried and was blown away by the ring. She kept saying “It’s perfect!” and could not be happier with it! They are in the process of planning their wedding and anticipate it being at the end of 2026. Congrats you two! We are SO happy for you!
