Clear Cut Couples: Mahki and Jenna

Mahki and Jenna met through a mutual friend of theirs in grade school. He was introduced to her and like a young boy trying to flirt with a girl, he would do things like throw footballs at her and try to make fun of her. She would do the same thing back and turns out… it worked! Their first date was definitely a memory neither of them will forget forever. It was 2018 and Mahki was so scared to ask her to the movies. They went to go see “Truth or Dare”. Mahki tried to play it smooth by going to go see a scary movie so that he could comfort her and feel like the man for not being scared. Shortly after the movie started, she was cuddled up next to him. With her in his arms, he felt like the best man alive. The night ended with TGI Fridays and remains one of their favorite days. 

They been together for 5 years and 6 months now and wouldn’t change it for the world. They have shared countless incredible memories over the years. They especially love to travel! Three years ago, they made a commitment to visit a new country at least once a year. They have visited Mexico, Jamaica, Canada, Aruba, Bonaire, and Curaçao, and are currently planning their next trip very soon. Their goal is to explore and travel all of the Caribbean and Africa before they get too old.

Mahki proposed on a beach in Aruba. He had been planning the proposal for almost a year and is so thrilled that she loved it. They took a taxi to baby beach during the evening and were planning to eat at a restaurant nearby. Everyone that was on vacation was in on the proposal besides her, so it was great to get all the help. They started off walking on the beach, taking pictures by the water. Soon after, their photographer got Jenna in position to do single shots, and when she turned around, there he was. It was definitely a surprise, she was balling her eyes out and asking him if he was being serious. She was so excited that she almost tackled him after he proposed and put the ring on her finger! The laughs and cries of joy lasted the entire night.

Their plans are to get married in a barn-like setting on the lakefront. They plan to have a formal wedding ceremony and party until the sun comes up in the morning. They will then follow up with a firework show at the end! Congrats you two! We are SO happy for you!
