Clear Cut Couples: Veronica and Cory

Veronica and Cory both grew up in the same town of Ormond Beach, FL, but never really knew each other. They both graduated from Seabreeze High School and had several mutual friends. A few years after high school, Cory messaged her on Instagram and they went to the beach together.

It was an amazing day swimming in the ocean and ordering lunch in. After, they watched a movie and saw the sunset together. Veronica pretty much moved in the next week and they have been together for the last 6 years living, traveling, and choosing each other every day!

They have shared countless incredible memories over the years. They love going to Costa Rica because they enjoy hiking together and Cory loves to surf too (and Veronica loves to watch)! They are such foodies and when not cooking, they enjoy trying new restaurants with items that they would never cook. Traveling has allowed them to try countless unique dishes.

Cory proposed on the beach in Matanzas Inlet. They were going on a date at one of their favorite restaurants in Jacksonville, so they drove down the A1A, which is beautiful. There are several houses on stilts nearby that are Veronica’s favorite and as they were passing them, she told Cory that they should do a photo shoot there one day.

Then, he said “let’s just go on a walk there.” They had time before dinner and his palms were sweaty, but Florida is hot. She didn’t think too much of it. Finally, he stopped at a random spot and started telling her why he brought her there that day. Then he popped the big question! Cory’s sister, Veronica’s best friend and their niece were all hiding taking photos. They were in mustaches and in men’s clothing, so she had no idea who they were. It was absolutely hilarious!

They still did go to dinner at their favorite restaurant, Royal Palms, to celebrate!

While Veronica was expecting a proposal at some point, she had no idea up until the moment that he started tearing up that this was really happening that day. She said, “Once I saw the ring, I couldn’t stop shaking and crying that it was from The Clear Cut. They have always been my dream jeweler for my engagement ring. He did absolutely amazing on it, and added my future initials, a few other extra special features, and the diamond itself is jaw dropping!”

They are getting married on 11/11/2026. That’s Veronica’s dream date to get married to him because every time she saw 11:11, she wished for a life with him. They are having a small 34 person ceremony at the Fairchild Oak with a dinner party after at her father-in-law‘s house on the river. Congrats you two! We are SO happy for you!
