Clear Cut Couples: Virginia and Parker

Virginia and Parker met in college at the University of South Carolina! Parker saved her from talking to a guy that she didn’t want to talk to in the hallway of his fraternity house, then they hung out together the rest of the night. He asked her to his fraternity formal that was a few weeks away, and she told him that since she didn’t know him very well, he had to ride the mechanical bull that was in the bar that they were standing in at the time for her to consider it. He did and won her over :)

Their unofficial first date was the next day when they went to this cute little place in Five Points called the Gourmet Shop for lunch. It was a casual spot that everyone at school loved. They were both in need of some hangover food, but Virginia remembers how easy and fun it was from the beginning!

They met and started dating when they were sophomores in college in 2018! So they have been together for about 6 years. Highlights include when Parker brought her to Ponte Vedra (where he grew up) for the first time after Christmas and they walked through all of the Christmas lights in St. Augustine. Shortly after, they both said “I love yous.” Also, after they did a year of long distance, Parker worked to get a job and move to Atlanta and they knew that they were really in this for the long haul. They moved in together a year later and will always remember eating pizza on the floor of their first apartment.

Parker proposed while they were in Spain. Virginia had just finished grad school and this was their first trip to Europe together. They were in Mallorca and had dinner reservations at a restaurant that overlooked the cliffs, and decided to get drinks before and walk down to see the views. Before she knew it, he was down on one knee! He had a photographer and all of her friends and family had known the plan for weeks ahead of time. It was so special!

She had given him some notes and references to help guide the ring shopping process, and she had a feeling in general that the proposal would happen soon.. but in the moment, she was so surprised and overwhelmed. She said, “my jaw dropped when I saw the ring, it was more beautiful than I could have imagined.”

As for their wedding, they are still in the early days of figuring it out! They are hoping to get married on the East Coast somewhere in SC or GA, likely in the Spring of 2026. They can’t wait to have all of their friends and family in one place.
