Clear Cut Couples: William and Julie
William and Julie met in their college town of Tallahassee, Florida. Their first date was getting ice cream at Bruster’s. A couple weeks later they took their first trip together to St Augustine. Julie says that they are always on the move… and it’s been that way since a few short weeks in! They were dating for a few months before William asked Julie to be his girlfriend, back in May of 2018. Fast forward and they have been together for about 6.5 years!
The entire relationship could be a highlight reel! From FSU football games to trips to Islamorada, to golfing together. Their favorite thing to do together is golf. They both golfed before they knew each other and one of their first few dates was going to the driving range together. They lived in Fort Myers from 2020-2022 and played some amazing courses down there. William won a tournament and got a trip for 2 to play TPC Sawgrass. Another highlight would be William getting Julie a bloodhound puppy for their anniversary a couple years back. Julie had always wanted a bloodhound because they can do something better than any other breed of dog- smell and follow a scent! They flew to Indiana to pick up their puppy (Cowboy), then drove with their dog for the next 2 days back to Fort Myers because he was already too heavy to be in an airplane cabin.
William proposed September 29th 2024, on a golf trip that they took for his thirtieth (thir-“tee” theme) birthday. Julie got him a trip to the Missouri Ozarks for them to play a course that was on both of their golf bucket lists: Payne’s Valley. It is a very special course that even has an extra hole- the 19th hole, that has a huge waterfall seated behind an island green. They were taking a photo in front of the hole before taking their tee shots and he got down on one knee and proposed!
Julie knew that he had the ring so she was hoping that he would propose on this trip, but they were also considering going to Tallahassee for a FSU football game this season so she thought he may do it there instead. She definitely packed her cutest golf dress and got her nails done just in case though! Julie said, “The ring was even more beautiful than I imagined. I couldn’t stop looking at it! The Clear Cut exceeded all expectations and made my dreams come true!”
As for their wedding, they don’t have anything written in stone but are thinking of Spring 2026 or 2027. They really want to enjoy the planning process and take their time with it. Congrats you two! We are SO happy for you!
