Clear Cut Couples: Aditya and Sarah
Aditya (Adi) and Sarah have a modern day love story! They matched on Bumble when Sarah was a second year medical student at Ohio State and Adi was a consultant working in Columbus, Ohio. Sarah didn't respond to his message immediately and had to daily extend to get her attention. Luckily, she replied and the rest is history!
Their first date was a clash of two cultures. Adi invited her out at 8pm, because that's when they usually have dinner in India. Sarah, thinking that it was incredibly late, had already eaten and thought that this was a casual drinks meetup. This gave him the impression she was a very light eater - LOL! But despite this miscommunication, it was clear that they had something special.
They have been together for over 4 years since then, and were long distance for over a year when Adi was transferred to Chicago for his job, but they made it through and are now happily living in NYC where Sarah is a medical resident.
They have shared so many incredible memories over the years! One highlight was their first Christmas in Cleveland together when Adi got to meet Sarah’s entire family! And moving to NYC and finally being able to live together, and figuring out that they wanted to spend the rest of their lives with each other… awww!
Adi proposed on May 26th because it was his late grandparent's anniversary. They had to be in Cleveland for a wedding, and he secretly organized their friends and family to wait in hiding at the proposal spot. They drove to a scenic overlook of Lake Erie and the Cleveland Skyline, and Adi got down on one knee and asked her to marry him! All of their friends and family jumped out and they were able to celebrate with them. It was really the perfect day!!
The proposal was a total surprise for Sarah! She said, “Adi did a great job organizing everything secretly and keeping it cool. We had looked at rings together so Adi knew what I wanted, and he worked with The Clear Cut to design my dream ring which blew me away when I first saw it. We still can't stop staring at it!”
They plan on getting married in Cleveland as well as in India, so that both of their families can be a part of the celebrations. Congrats you two! We are SO happy for you!
