Clear Cut Couples: Andrew and Megan

Andrew and Megan met in college through mutual friends at a party. One of Megan’s best friends was dating one of Andrew’s friends that lived in the same apartment complex as him. When he first saw Megan as she walked through the door, he thought that she was so beautiful. Megan's friend introduced them, and Megan decided that they should all play beer pong and she wanted to be his partner. Andrew was so elated that she wanted to be his partner, but he knew the pressure was on. He did not want to embarrass himself, so he had laser sharp focus during the game. Megan did all of the smack talking and he made a majority of the shots. They won their match and he is pretty sure she was impressed with his skills… LOL! At that point, he just knew that they would be the perfect match for each other.

Their first date was at a bowling alley. He wanted to impress her with his bowling skills this time! He also thought this would be a good first date for more interaction and a good opportunity to get to know each other. Since then, they have been together for 8 years on July 28th.

The first time he got real butterflies was when he introduced Megan to his parents and afterwards, they went walking around Austin. He said, “I had such a euphoric feeling and I knew at that time that I was in love with her.”

They have shared so many incredible memories over the years! Some highlights include:

Ireland 2017 - They did a trip to Ireland for a week and got to celebrate St. Paddy’s Day there. They have a lot of memorable stories from that trip!

Cruise 2020 - They took their first cruise together and went to Cozumel, Grand Cayman, and Jamaica.

October 2017 - Moved into their first apartment together!

March 2021 - Bought their first house together!

Andrew proposed on July 1st 2021. He was so nervous coordinating everything. He just wanted everything to be perfect! He invited family and close friends to attend the proposal at a park near San Antonio. He had a “marry me” marquee sign with a rose petal walkway. He also had an arch with floral designs and two end tables with pictures of them. He also got a photographer to take pictures of everything. It was an amazing experience and he was so happy to get to share it with family and friends.

Megan had an idea of the proposal happening, but she was surprised on the date that he proposed - a Thursday in the middle of the week, so she was caught off guard a bit. She absolutely LOVES the ring! Megan’s favorite part of the ring is the hidden birthstones inside of the band.

Their wedding will definitely be some time in 2022 but they are ironing out all the details and trying to decide between a destination and hometown wedding. Congrats you two! We are SO happy for you!
