Clear Cut Couples: Carrie and Gabe

Carrie and Gabe met in 2014 while working together at a restaurant in Boston. They became fast friends at work, and a little less than a year later, Gabe landed a job at a law firm and left the restaurant. Carrie was on a company trip to Spain when he left, and when she got back he asked her to dinner! The rest is history! They went to what became one of their favorite restaurants in Brookline called Pomodoro (Gabe picked it).

They have been together for over 5 years, and spent 2 of those years living in the North End of Boston in a tiny apartment. They moved to Portland, ME in August 2020 as a temporary change of scenery, and now they are getting married there!

Gabe planned a day trip up the coast of Maine in mid-November. Carrie had a feeling that he was up to something at this point... they love chilly beach days so they posted up on the beach and he reached into his backpack and gave her a handwritten letter. He told her to go toward the water and read it, and when she turned around, he got on one knee, pulled out the ring, and Carrie didn't remember anything after that! It was so special it was just the two of them on a mostly empty beach. There was a beautiful rock cliff that they walked up on to take some photos and then when they were driving back, he told her that she needed to pack an overnight bag and they were going to do a staycation at the Press Hotel in Portland. They got room service and had a blast FaceTiming all of their family and friends, with a select few being in on the secret.

Carrie said, “I knew I loved elongated cushions and a thin band, and the ring was beyond anything I could have dreamt of! I still can't get over it!” They are getting married in Maine in September 2022! Congrats you two! We are SO happy for you!
