Clear Cut Couples: Johnny and Emma
Johnny and Emma met in college at George Washington University in DC. They were friends for a few years and finally got together the summer before senior year and never looked back!
Their first official date was the classic dinner and movies - ended the night sitting on the Georgetown waterfront looking out onto the water and talking for hours.
They have shared so many incredible memories over the years! They traveled all over the world together - Israel, Puerto Rico, Italy, Amsterdam and have so many more on their list to check off. Aside from their engagement, their most prized, special moment was the day they brought home their perfect goldendoodle, Winnie, in 2020. Every minute with her has been a dream for them!
Johnny proposed on Thursday November 3rd - they took the day off from work and went up to the Met Cloisters to have a picnic with wine, crackers and cheese.
Before they got to the picnic spot, Johnny started telling her how much he loved her and how much he wanted to spend the rest of their lives together and she started to get the hint of what was about to happen.
He got on one knee (and their dog Winnie jumped up on his knee to join in which just melted her heart) and he asked the question! Emma can't even remember if she verbally said yes because she was so over the moon and just kissed him!
After being together for 5.5 years, she can say that she knew it was coming soon but had NO idea it was happening that day or in that moment. Total surprise. She said, “The ring was beyond my wildest dreams. So perfect in every way - the intense sparkle of the diamond, the shape, the daintiness of the setting - couldn't have dreamed up a more beautiful ring to signify our relationship.”
As for their wedding, they know that they want it to be a true celebration - just filled with love and fun and longstanding memories with the people that they love most.
Most likely somewhere on the east coast, either Fall or Spring time. They’re going to spend the next few weeks soaking in the engagement and then will start planning!
