Clear Cut Couples: Jonah and Martina

Jonah and Martina met a few times through mutual friends at parties and gatherings in college. It wasn’t until a year later that Jonah messaged her IG DMs on Christmas Eve! He commented on her cute Christmas pajamas she had just posted a selfie in. That was the start of it all!

They texted back and forth for about a week during Christmas break 2016 in college and met back up at school for a day filled with baked goods, movies, and wine. After that, they saw each other every day that they could!  This December, they have been together for 4 years!

They have had so many incredible memories over the years! During the summer of 2018 Martina studied abroad in Europe. Upon return, Jonah surprised her with an Australian Shepard puppy. They named him Leo, but quickly found she was actually a girl! So, now she goes by Cleo and is an extremely special member of their family.

Jonah proposed on September 6th, 2020 along a sand dune cliff overlooking Lake Michigan on the Sleeping Bear Dunes coastline. Jonah said, “I had a secret photographer staged and enlisted the help of my beautiful sister Abby and her boyfriend Nick to set up the perfect setting including roses, candles, and champagne.” She was surprised, but Jonah said that she is an excellent detective and he is a horrible secret keeper -- so she was anticipating the proposal!

They are absolutely loving being engaged and are planning to get married by the end of next year. Congrats you two! We are SO happy for you!
