Clear Cut Couples: Karen and Josh

Karen and Josh have different ideas about how they first met. Josh says she followed him back home in the fall of 2015. He came home and she was “waiting for him” in his roommate’s room. Karen says something different. She says they happened to have a mutual friend and she was just hanging out at her friend’s apartment. “Little did I know that a guy named Josh was also living there…” she says.

They both agree with this: they are soulmates. Since that run-in at Josh’s apartment, they have been together for 3 amazing years, filled with memories. They’ve spent one year in San Francisco, one year long-distance and are now together in New York.

In 2015 they took their first trip together to a beautiful area called Apple Hill with their best friends. It soon became a yearly tradition in the fall. They eat apple cider donuts, stop by breweries and go gift shopping together.

On their most recent trip, Josh had the perfect surprise for Karen. He planned the proposal at a scenic spot where they usually take pictures together. He got down on one knee and, of course, she said yes! After, they had a small party with their closest friends and family at a nearby winery. It was perfect -- the best day of both of their lives.

Plus, Karen was shocked. She had absolutely no idea it was coming because Josh and some other friends intentionally threw her off -- it all paid off!

Karen says she was ugly crying the moment he said, “I have a surprise for you.” She is in love with her oval and halfmoon three stone ring, it is beyond what she could have hoped for: the stones, setting and small details on the side. It’s beautiful and she says she still stares at it every day.

As for their wedding, they are planning for the fall of 2020 in northern California. They love hosting dinner parties with family and friends so they are excited to plan their biggest one yet! Congratulations -- we are so happy for you!
