Clear Cut Couples: Ranae and Jason

Ranae and Jason met through a classic case of a guy and a girl walking into a bar! They could not stop talking and since then, the rest is history! For their first date, they went to Martini night and at a local lounge. They later discovered Ranae actually hates Martinis so they had fun trying to find a flavor she might like. Conversation flowed and the laughs were endless. They didn’t want it to end. They went next door to another cocktail lounge called “The Violet Hour” which later became the inspiration for Jason's proposal. Since then, they have been together for over 4 years!

They have shared so many incredible memories over the years! They both love to travel so that’s very special to them. Every road trip, flight, destination has been its own adventure though their most memorable trip was an excursion across Europe while attending Jason’s best friend’s wedding In France. They explored some old favorites as well as some places completely new to the both of them. Floating in the water together in the Adriatic Sea in Croatia after having a fish meal prepared right on the dock will always be a favorite memory. It was their first big international trip together and even further solidified their relationship. Another highlight would be when they got their pet Corgi. They got her on their 3rd anniversary and it was an unspoken commitment to each other.

Jason proposed at sunset (The violet hour) at a quiet spot by a pond in Lincoln Park where they live. He couldn’t do a destination proposal as desired due to COVID so he made it personal. He pretended as if they were taking the dog for a walk so it completely caught Ranae off guard (which is extremely hard to do). She was standing by the water and when she turned around, Jason was on his knee.

It was a complete surprise! Ranae knew he was going to propose, but had no idea it was going to be in that moment. Ranae absolutely loves the ring and can’t stop looking at it!!! They are planning to have a destination wedding in Cabo! Their closest friends and family all need a vacation after this year with COVID!! Congrats you two! We are SO happy for you!
